Dear Community Partner:

Through funding received from the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council Pilot Parents of Southern Arizona is pleased to announce the implementation of a new state-wide program entitled LEAP (Leadership Education Advocacy Partnership). The LEAP program will provide scholarship funding for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to participate in valuable learning opportunities that will increase their knowledge of disability issues and increase their skills as advocates and community leaders.

This program consolidates local, state-wide and national training opportunity information into one easy to use calendar located on the Pilot Parents website at www.pilotparents.org. The site also lists eligibility requirements, event requirements, funding limits and application instructions. The program application is available for download in an easy to use fillable PDF form.

Collaboration with state agencies, the UCEDDs, Parent Training & Information Centers, Independent Living Centers, self-advocacy groups, non-profits and disability specific organizations is being utilized to provide outreach, identify educational opportunities and assist in the recruitment of interested applicants.
