Keynotes Announced for Autism Society National Conference
There will be four keynote speakers at this year's conference. On Thursday, July 26, Ann Turnbull, Ed.D. will speak on Creating Positive Lives for Individuals with Autism; on Friday, July 27, the keynote will be shared by Stephen Shore, Ed.D., self advocate and educator, and Dwayne Ballen, father of a child with autism and ESPN personality; and on Saturday, July 28, the keynote presentation will address the topic of the DSM-5 revision, presented by Bryan H. Give Back to the Autism Society: Eat at Carino's Italian this April
Did you know that Carino's Italian is donating a percentage of its proceeds to the Autism Society this April? Carino's hopes to serve 50,000 kid's meals this April to raise $50,000 for autism. We're just over halfway there!
The Autism Society and Carino's Italian have also teamed up to celebrate Carino's Autism Champions. These champions are the everyday people around us that work tirelessly to promote awareness, acceptance, education and resources to benefit all that are touched by autism. In short, they are the ones accomplishing the mission of the Autism Society -- to improve the lives of all affected by autism.

A University of Kansas Medical Center study found significantly lower levels of several cytokines, the immune system's messengers and regulators, in the plasma of children with autism disorder compared to that of unrelated healthy siblings from other families who had members with autism spectrum disorders.
